no days off
I took an in-class vacation today. Calling in sick when I’m well is sorta stressful; there’s the hard work of making up lesson plans, there’s the frantic sorting through memories to make sure I didn’t have any extra commitments, and of course there’s the Protestant guilt. In lieu of all those lovely things, I planned a low-involvement teaching day and babysat my classes. I was able to finish a bootie that was merely a rectangular sole as of 8 a.m. Life is good.
"Wow. That movie was sadder than Scarface." - a student's comment on the end of Anne Frank: the Real Story
More tomorrow, when I’ve finished processing Team Canada Knit at Night and Bridesmaidmania 3: Revenge of the Silk. I’m just not used to being a 24-hour party person and my batteries need to recharge before I can do this weekend justice.

Don't make me send out the Blake. He doesn't listen to *anyone.*
